July 8 - Upper Nyack and back to Croton on Hudson
This morning we returned to the Tappan Zee Bridge area to have some work done on our boat. After a boat ride of 45 minutes, we reached the Julius Petersen Boat Yard in Upper Nyack. Garry Prunotto, the Manager, was awaiting our arrival. After discussing the various items to be fixed, he assigned one of his staff and before long the problem with the drive shaft seal was taken care of. Next was the bow thruster problem - a switch with the spare motor took care of that problem. The last job was taking down the mast. After wires were pulled and the mast removed, it was placed in our bridge area. We hope to have it put back in place shortly after passing under a railroad bridge with a height restriction of 17 ft. We were done around 4:00 p.m. and decided to anchor out in the Half Moon Bay, a short distance from the marina where we spent the last two nights. Our routing had to be changed and is now as follows:
July 9 - Croton on Hudson to Kingston, NY
Jul 10 - Kingston to Coeymans, NY
Jul 11 - Coeymans to Troy, NY
Jul 12 - Troy to Schuylerville, NY
Jul 13 - Schuylerville to Whitehall, NY
Jul 14 - Whitehall to Shelburne (Burlington), VT
Jul 15 - Shelburne (Burlington), VT
Jul 16 - Shelburne to Chambly Canal, Quebec
Jul 17 - Chambly Canal to the Richelieu River
Jul 18 - Richelieu River to Montreal, Quebec
Jul 19 - Montreal, Quebec
The rest of the itinerary will be worked on tomorrow. We may follow the St Lawrence or go by way of Ottawa.
